Creating a Sustainable Music Career

I am shifting the focus of this blog to “Creating a Sustainable Music Career” not only for me but for others. I learn well this way (through blogging and conversing online). I hope to meet many other people in blog-land who want to see independent musicians thrive.

In December 2009 I shifted my vocational focus from Strategic Marketing and Business Development to music. Primarily, I’ve been doing the singer/songwriter traveling around thing. It is great! This year I've performed live concerts in CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, CO, NV, MN, WI, IL, OH, PA, NY and GA. It was a three month tour that began on May 14th and comes to conclusion on August 19th. Along the way I connected with old clients to stay in touch, etc.

While I am developing my music business I am opening 10 hours a week to companies that can use my marketing and sales expertise. I excel at helping Banks, Credit Unions, and Hospitals grow their businesses and recently worked for a marketing agency in a Business Development role. So, if you know someone in need of sales and marketing expertise, I can help!

One more thing, this blog is not a spelling bee! Go ahead and ramble and write stream of consciousness stuff. I do it all the time, and it is such a relaxing way to exchange ideas. It is a conversation, not a job interview. Questions are fun too. . .

So welcome to my new blog (well it is actually a blog I started in 2008 but I took it offline for a while). If you have read any of my other blogs - I got about 10 now, You know I'm all about experiementing and AUTHENTICY. So feel free to relax here when exchanging ideas :).

One more thing (I am the king of one more thing), check out my "giving up the car" stoies on this blog. Then go to my new friend in New York's website rideplanetearth.org. This guy is a new hero of mine, one of those Aquarian greater good guys, and since I haven't been biking as much this year I've been following his journey across the country. What a nice coincidence that he was staying with my cousin in Brooklyn when I was crashing on the couch there this summer. Cool stuff!
